In Greek/Roman mythology, there is no mention of an apocalypse, no final destruction of the world, in Scandinavian mythology where Ragnarok is “the end of the divine and human worlds, which shall be preceded by cruel winters and moral chaos as 'evil' spirits and demons will attack the gods, who will face death like heroes. "The sun will be darkened, the stars will vanish, and the earth will sink into the sea”. "In Greek/Roman mythology there is however a myth which tells of a deluge, but not of the world ending, as after this deluge mankind does not die and thus the world continues to be. This myth is that of Deucalion and Pyrrha which narrates that Deucalion was the son of Prometheus. When Zeus, angered by humanity’s irreverence, flooded the earth, Deucalion, warned by his father Prometheus, survived by taking refuge with his wife, Pyrrha, in an ark, where they were saved because of their piety. Later, an oracle told them to cast behind them the bones of their mother (i.e. the stones of the earth, since the mother of all is Earth.).
From these stones sprang men and women who repopulated the world: the stones thrown by Pyrrha became women, those thrown by Deucalion became men." - Maria To this extent, there is also a myth which tells that the deluge will be the return of Thanatos or Thanatos's son, sent from Athena as a demigod on earth. Athena, the god of warriors (also known for the god of Just) tells Thanatos there is a need for its human presence on earth for influence. The gods are prohibited from interfering with human life on earth, the demigod shall live on the peripheral of life only to have great influence and observation. It is said that once this demigod of Thanatos draws the tear of mortal despair, deluge shall occur. Some other reference state the tear shall call upon the four horsemen. The demigod of Thanatos shall be a male, in other references, death was described as a boy. The boy will have his counterpart Hemera's light in his hair (probably a very light blond). Life for the boy will be anything but easy. And the boy will face many challenges. He will defy the odds thrown at him, from the struggle of learning his lessons to the abyss of his mind. He will not have many friends, best the worst of enemies, confront his own demons. He will experience betrayal, and will find it hard to fall in love or have someone in love with him. Protector of Humanity. He is described in boyhood as a beatuiful boy with sun stricken hair and fairly quiet. The Oracle foretold events that will occur in the boy's life, the boy shall experience a near-death event at birth, shall experience near death events that will trigger change throughout his boyhood. He will have a fascination with earth and nature, particularly the skies of night and clouds/storms of day. Once the boy's hair loses the light of Hemera, Nyx (the god of night), mother of Thanatos, shall darken his hair and the boy shall be man. The demigod shall experience more near death events that continue to ready him while he enters his stages of a (Shaman), Guide of Souls. The demigod will experience a striking down, which is to dismember him as a person and to have him reborn into something else. The first is the demigod's sickness and the second is lightning. The demigod shall experience disease, in the odds against him, he defies the disease which will have no effect on him. The mortals shall be afraid of his infliction, he will learn equal treatment of all souls. In Myth, the near-death experience of the demigod's sickness is very traumatic. He suffers both mentally and physically. The demigod shall have a event involving lightning, the change in mind. It is said the demigod will fall from the skies (which in today's world can be the falling off from cliff or the downing of a plane) and after survival, will not age, nor grown facial hair (which corresponds with other references that lead to death looking like a young boy with no facial hair). He will be challenged in events that attempt to destroy him, mortal law shall interfere, the demi develops a divine power and becomes knowledge in mortal law to fulfill his quest later. He will often be a victim of crimes as well as witness to many crimes, most involving violent deaths. The demigod shall face persecution from one he was in love with, will betray him. The demigod will be responsible for extracting the souls by touch of those about to die, he is assigned this for a short period of time while Thanatos is called to Olympus. Death will often occur in mortals around the demigod's presences. The demigod will ignore or attempt to escape is responsibilities from Fate, one of the three sisters, and attempts to flee the death surrounding him. He learns that flipping off fate has consequences, where he is later called to the underworld. He is called upon Poseidon, god of the waters, in another death experience when the demigod is in Poseidon's domain (the waters); here will he learn in the underworld that he is a demigod and given instructions and divine power, which then he is then sent back to life to seek his brother demigod of Hypnos. The instructions that were given were not known. The demigod of Thanatos while on his quest to seek his brother-demi, will experience difficult times in a subjective future. Thanatos the twin brother of Hypnos are close, which will make the demigod have closer relations to other men. A family member of the demigod will be taken when he reaches the age of 30 or near 31, in a twist, the demigod will know of the family members last day and will attempt to break the rules in attempts to warn or delay it, even later in his life, where his brother will experience death or near death experience where he will attempt to stop it. The demigod is prohibited from revealing his quest, his mother attempts to reveal it when she realizes something divine in her son, he protects her from the consequence of death after the death of a family member and her realization, although it was said that the Thanatos demigod will almost reveal himself to his mortal mother. In the objective or subjective futures, the Oracle warns that the demigod's tear of destruction will arise from his persecution, which after the world of mortals will experience the wrath of the gods and comes then deluge. If the tear is not dropped life will resume as normal with the demigod to stay for his powerful influence in mortal law. It was said that this demigod shall possess a lone life, he will have great difficulties in finding a loved partner since he was sent back to life for a purpose and must not be distracted, it was also said he will have some unknown divine powers, something related to death and earth. -Urban Legend :32:1
